HAMLET highlights “Sonified Bodies, Algorithmic Friction” at the PublicSpaces Conference

HAMLET is pleased to highlight “Sonified Bodies, Algorithmic Friction”, an interactive workshop, performance and discussion taking place on 5 June 2025 as part of the PublicSpaces Conference.

Developed through the collaboration between ICK Dans Amsterdam and Waag Futurelab, the session explores embodied creativity at the intersection of human movement and artificial intelligence. Participants will investigate what happens when dance is analyzed, interpreted and translated into sound through AI-powered tools.

The programme begins with a Double Skin / Double Mind (DS/DM) movement workshop, followed by excerpts from Prologo d’Entrata, the opening scene of the dance opera WE, the LUST (2024). The session concludes with an open discussion on the creative and ethical implications of human–AI collaboration in performance.

Speakers include Hiroki Nunogaki, Suzan Tunca and Francesco Cutillo from ICK Dans Amsterdam, alongside Ola Bonati from Waag Futurelab.

This event forms part of HAMLET’s broader exploration of how human-centered AI can support innovation across the Cultural and Creative Industries.
